Manor House School has one form for each year group with a maximum of 20 pupils per class.

Kindergarten (four- five years)

Children enter the Kindergarten in the academic year that they will celebrate their fifth birthday. At Manor House, children spend a full year in the Kindergarten irrespective of their date of birth.

Activities follow National Curriculum guidelines, with an emphasis on acquiring a wide range of curriculum-based skills and developing social awareness. Pupils also have lessons in basic French.

Junior School (five – 10 years)

Throughout the Pre-Prep and Junior classes, pupils follow National Curriculum guidelines with specialist teaching in a number of subjects such as French and swimming.

From Year 2, pupils learn their ICT skills in the school’s recently-upgraded ICT suite. From Year 3, pupils are taught in the school’s Science laboratories and use the dedicated Art and Design facilities.

Pupils are encouraged to become more independent and to take increasing self-responsibility.

Middle School (11 – 14 years)

One of the great strengths of Manor House School is that pupils move seamlessly from Year 6 to Year 7 – without having to change schools. For pupils elsewhere, the transition from Year 6 (the last year of Primary education) to Year 7 (the first year of Secondary education) can be extremely traumatic, in terms of curriculum, teaching styles and social change. At Manor House, the transition takes place without disruption.

During this period, important foundations are laid for GCSE and A level examinations. Pupils follow a varied curriculum, and are given lots of support to address their changing physical, social and emotional needs.

Senior School (15 – 16 years)

Pupils in the Senior School follow a curriculum that is designed to prepare them for the GCSE courses they will follow.

Year 9 pupils and their parents are given advice about their choices for future study or employment. During Years 10 and 11, pupils receive careers guidance and take part in work experience programmes. They also visit local Sixth Form centres to research their post-16 options.

As well as maximising each child's academic potential, teachers at Manor House recognise the need to develop the whole child.

Pupils are given opportunities to take a leading role in school life, academically, socially and pastorally.

They are encouraged to become involved in the wide range of activities on offer, including drama, sport and music. A variety of other activities are also available as part of the curriculum during and after school.

At Manor House School, teachers strive "to equip..pupils with the academic skills and social attributes to meet the demands of today's world."
