Vikings Put on a Show
News article submitted on 19th March 2009, 15:47

VikingsThe story of the Vikings was re-enacted for pupils at Manor House School, by a visiting theatre company.

Pupils from the school's M forms, aged seven to 11, learned about Viking lives and conflicts by watching a series of short sketches.

They then worked in groups to discuss what they had seen, their views of the characters and what might happen next.

Teacher Janet Russell, who watched the performance, said: "Pupils study the Vikings as part of their History lessons. For those who had already covered the Vikings, the afternoon was a useful revision session.

"For others, it was a flavour of what they will be learning. The afternoon supported our classroom work really well because it made the Vikings so accessible for the children."

The Hobgoblin Theatre Company staged the afternoon of performances and workshops.
