Monstrous Mask Task Turns Heads
News article submitted on 30th April 2009, 11:12
A monstrous mask task encouraged pupils to use their imagination and think about History, health and hygiene.
As part of their work on the Tudors, pupils in M1 were asked to create their own plague masks.
In Tudor times, it was believed that these masks helped to ward off the threat of plague.
The pupils, aged seven and eight, used fabric, card and old hats to create their masks.
Teacher Mrs Linda Wordsworth said: “The children have been investigating health and hygiene. This task required them to think about the spread of disease and how it might be prevented.
“The end results were very impressive.”
