Seaside Show is a Hit, For Shore
News article submitted on 21st May 2009, 14:01

Summer concertSummer is on the way at last – thanks to a seaside-inspired performance by young pupils from Manor House School.

The youngsters’ summer concert in June will feature well-known songs such as ‘I Do Like to be Beside the Seaside’ and ‘Yellow Submarine’.

There will be a solo performance by six-year-old singing sensation Matthew Gopsill. All the children taking part are aged from four to seven.

The show – entitled ‘Summer Holiday’ – will be performed to an audience of local community groups and day nurseries, as well as friends and family members.

Teacher Angela Taylor said: “Manor House School is extremely proud of its links with the local community. The pupils really enjoy performing to a wider audience.

“Shows like this are part of a varied curriculum at Manor House School and an excellent way for children to build their confidence in public speaking and performing.”

Pupils will also display artwork and recite poetry which they have produced in class as part of their seaside project. They will wear seaside outfits for the performance.

The school’s Pre-Prep pupils perform a summer concert each year.
