News article submitted on 2nd July 2009, 9:38

Race For LifeMore than £1,000 has been raised by staff from Manor House School who took part in this year's Race For Life.

Teachers and dinner ladies from the school donner pink t-shirts to run the race in aid of Cancer Research UK at Loughborough University in June.

Teacher Angela Taylor said: "We decided to take part in the Race For Life because all of us know someone who has been affected by cancer in some way.

"This was our way of giving something back to all the marvellous people who give care and support to cancer patients and their families."

This was the first time that staff from Manor House School have taken part in the Race For Life.

Manor House School has a strong tradition of supporting charity and actively encourages people to do their bit for charity. Every year, the school holds several charity fund raising events.
