Sports Day is Runaway Success
News article submitted on 2nd July 2009, 15:30
Determined pupils put in winning performances at this year's Pre-Prep sports day - in spite of competing on one of the hottest days of the year.
As temperatures soared to 29 degrees, the school's younger pupils took to the field for their annual sporting showdown.
This year's events included sprints, a bean bag throwing contest and an egg and spoon race.
There were also races for spectators, including younger siblings and parents.
Teacher Angela Taylor said: "The Pre-Prep sports day is always really good fun, although this year it was perhaps a little hot. We had to make sure that competitors stayed in the shade between events.
"In spite of the heat, everyone had a lovely afternoon - there was a real competitive spirit and we had lots of valuable support from parents and other family members."
At Manor House School, teachers believe strongly in working with parents and involving them in school life wherever possible.
