Party Time for Wizards and Witches
News article submitted on 29th October 2009, 10:18
Slime and eye balls were among the delicacies served up at a witches’ and wizards’ party for the school’s youngest pupils.
The slime (otherwise known as green jelly) and eye balls (grapes) were on the menu for Kindergarten and Pre-Prep pupils, who conjured up some fabulous, fearsome fancy dress outfits for the occasion.
The party began with a parade of witches and wizards, followed by a dancing competition and games, including ‘pass the cauldron’.
There were also songs and a story.
Teacher Angela Taylor said: “At Manor House School, we try to make learning as interesting and enjoyable as possible. The children had a lot of fun dressing up and had to use plenty of imagination when it came to the menu – especially when we served up witches’ and wizards’ fingers for dessert!”
The fingers were really iced, finger-shaped biscuits.
