The Grumpy Sheep Goes on the Road

Pint-sized performers from Manor House School will be taking their nativity play on the road – to entertain an audience of Ashby’s senior citizens.
The school’s youngest pupils, aged four to seven, will stage their tale of ‘The Grumpy Sheep’ at three special performances for older people in the town later this month.
The performers will visit Prior Park, the Ladies’ Coffee Pot Club and the Hood Park Day Centre.
This is the second year that the school has been asked to take its Christmas production out into the community.
Teacher Sam Pope said: “The play is based on the traditional Christmas nativity story with some lovely songs and beautiful costumes.
“Manor House School has strong links with the local community and we are delighted to be able to spread some festive cheer again this year.”
‘The Grumpy Sheep’ tells the story of a sheep who does not want to go to Bethlehem, but is persuaded to tag along by other characters in the Christmas story. When the sheep arrives and sees the baby Jesus, she is glad that she went along.
