Shadowy Performers Have the Y Factor
News article submitted on 18th March 2010, 14:41

A scene from The Black Shadow.Performers at Manor House School will be hoping to please the judges when the curtain rises on their school play – and their own version of TV talent show ‘The X Factor’.

Junior school pupils will be performing musical ‘The Black Shadow’ but with a modern twist. Their performance will feature a half-time talent contest called ‘The Y Factor’ for pupils to showcase their hidden talents.

Teacher Fiona Millington-Pipe said: “We want to make sure that everyone has a chance to perform, particularly those pupils who do not have the biggest roles in the play.

“By giving pupils a chance to take part in ‘The Y Factor’, it means that everyone who wants to get up on stage and give a performance can do so.”

‘The Black Shadow’ and ‘The Y Factor’ will be performed by pupils aged seven to 11. The show will be staged on 22, 23 and 24 March to an audience of family members, friends and invited guests.
