News article submitted on 17th June 2010, 14:36
The World Cup will be the theme for Manor House School’s annual garden fete next Saturday (26 June).
Excited England fans will be able to take their minds off the team’s next match - which will be played against Germany on Sunday - by enjoying an afternoon of summer entertainment in the school grounds.
Attractions will include displays of karate and street dance by pupils, as well as a performance by popular local singing group, Concordia.
A barbeque, French cafe and ice cream vendor will be on hand for refreshments.
There will also be stalls, games and children’s rides.
Linda Wordsworth, Deputy Headteacher, said: “The fete is a major event in the school calendar and a great opportunity for the local community to join in with our World Cup celebrations.”
The fete will take place from 11am to 3pm at the school in South Street.
