An exhibition of artwork by some of Manor House School’s most talented young artists will open next week.
The three-day exhibition by GCSE Art students will feature a diverse display of artwork, including paintings, felt sculptures, and even a hammock.
Pupils have been bringing their own very different interpretations to the themes of Journeys, Buildings, and Work, Rest and Play.
James Hyam, 15, made a life-size hammock to illustrate the idea of Work, Rest and Play, while Tom Griffiths, 16, produced a magnified painting of four puzzle pieces.
Other eye-catching exhibits include a fairy scene made out of twigs, feathers and other natural materials by Morgan Smelt, 16, and an elaborate headdress crafted by Emma Hunt, 16.
Art teacher Karen Spence said: “Some of the work the pupils have produced shows extraordinary commitment and creativity. The exhibition has been a great motivating force for them.”
The exhibition will be open to the public at the school’s annual garden fete on Saturday 26 June.
