A Walk at Calke
News article submitted on 8th July 2010, 10:16
The rain did not dampen the spirits of Pre-Prep pupils who spent a day at Calke Abbey - but it certainly helped the plants to grow.
The pupils, aged four to seven, spent a day at the tourist beauty spot looking at plantlife and thinking about how things grow.
The visit tied in with the pupil's latest Science project on plants.
They also had a look at some bat boxes.
Teacher Angela Taylor said: "It was great weather for the plants - but not so good for the pupils! In spite of the weather, they had a wonderful time and made the most of the opportunity to look at many different kinds of plantlife."
