Manor House School Council

At Manor House School, we take the voices of our pupils seriously and work collaboratively with them to establish a learning environment where all can flourish.

We are proud to have passionate pupil representatives that take part in School Council meetings. These weekly meetings take place to ensure that pupils’ voices are involved in decisions about the school that affect them.

School Council members have a very important job. They make sure that: our school is a safe and happy place; all pupils have a forum for their voices to be heard; their peers feel comfortable and supported when making suggestions; and suggestions or concerns are listened to and acted upon.

Pupils at Manor House know that this is their school and that their thoughts, opinions and ideas matter!

Becoming a School Council member

At the beginning of each academic year, children can nominate themselves to be the School Council member for their class. Nominees are invited to create a short presentation for their classmates, outlining their strengths for the position, what issues they think are important and how they will work to represent the ideas of the class.

Each class votes for their School Council member.
