Extra Curricular

Manor House School prides itself on its close links with the local community.

The school's pupils are encouraged to develop a sense of community responsibility that extends beyond the school gates. At Christmas time, children from the school's Pre-Prep classes regularly spread festive cheer by staging seasonal performances for Ashby’s older residents.

The school also has close links with St Helen's Church, which hosts the school's annual prize-giving ceremony and welcomes pupils and their families to services throughout the year. The school has a good relationship with local day nurseries, too. Children from local nurseries are regularly invited to visit the school to attend productions and take part in activities with younger pupils such as Manor House School's Annual Teddy Bears Picnic...

Manor House School Garden Fete
The school's annual garden fete is open to the community.

As part of the school curriculum, younger pupils visit Ashby town centre to look at buildings and architecture. These visits are a further opportunity to consolidate community relations.

The school's picturesque grounds are the venue for the school's annual garden fete, to which all members of the community are invited. The delightful surroundings also make it the obvious location for Ashby Farmers' Market on the third Saturday of every month.

The school is regularly used as a venue for other local events such as Ashby Castle Rotary Club charity Santa Fun Run and is an important setting during Ashby’s annual Arts Festival. As well as housing festival exhibitions, the school has also played host to the festival's closing concert on the lawn.
