Remembrance Day 11.11.2016

11 Nov 2016

Today all of Manor House school walked down to the memorial in Ashby de la Zouch. We made sure we were all wearing our poppies. We prayed, listened to The Last Post, sang the National Anthem and participated in a 2 minute silence. We did this to remember the soldiers who have died for our lives. After the 2 minute silence a lady said a beautiful, memorable speech about the soldiers. She said, ‘When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow we gave our today.’ At the end we laid a poppy wreath by the memorial. It was a really moving ceremony and a sad moment however we all feel it is very important to come together as a community.

This report was written by our M4 team of:

Mr Messent said how proud he was of our children and praised the respect shown by all.
